Mr. Rupani has shown a green signal to keep operations the cotton ginning mills as well the oil mills in the state during the lockdown period. It is also urged to seek approval through the local system for transportation and to take adequate care of social distance, hygiene, sanitization, etc. in the whole process, added Secretary.
The Chief Minister has also made an important decision for the health safety of the private doctors working for the health services of the citizens in the present situation in the state. The services of government doctors, paramedicals, and nurses, who are involved in the treatment of Corona virus patients, are extremely important, adequate arrangements for the health care of such medical staff etc. have been made by the state health department so that such service personnel do not pose any risk to their health, added Secretary.
Mr. Rupani has also decided to distribute 25 thousand N-95 masks free of cost through the Indian Medical Association to the private doctors treating the patients coming to their clinics or hospitals. Gujarat President of the Indian Medical Association Dr. Mona Desai has provided 25 thousand N-95 masks free of cost to the state government for this purpose. It has been decided to provide 7500 N-95 mask each to private doctors in Surat and Rajkot as well 5000 N-95 mask to private doctors in Vadodara.
The Chief Minister's Secretary also said that the state government a total of 45 thousand N-95 masks to the private doctors throughout Gujarat.
On the 12th day of the 21-day lockdown, he said that on Sunday 45.79 lakh liters of milk has been distributed. Due to the weekly holidays, 18 Vegetable markets were closed. 58,903 quintal of vegetables and 6969 quintal of fruits were distributed today. A total of 2 lakh 50 thousand passes have been issued so far for small merchant-retailers and those connected to essential services for the sale of essential goods.
He said that meals were served to 34 lakh 37 thousand old, destitute and lonely people in the state.
